Marine surveyors – Harwich, Essex
Harwich is a busy international port and is located on the estuary of the rivers Stour and Orwell in north-east Essex, England. Harwich is a historically important port which has provided a sheltered anchorage for shipping through the ages. Harwich handles large volumes of North Sea freight and passenger traffic to and from Scandinavia and the Benelux countries, with ro-ro, ferry, container and bulk operations. Many operations of the large container port at Felixstowe and of Trinity House, the lighthouse authority, are managed from Harwich. Harwich ferry port is a highly efficient, modern, multipurpose port, and has become one of the UK’s most important North Sea ferry ports. Harwich passenger ferry terminal is run by Stena Line who sail to the Hook of Holland.

West Mersea is the most Easterly inhabited island in the British Isles, a sailing haven arguably better than that of the overcrowded Solent. West Mersea is a beautiful, tranquil setting on the River Blackwater on the East Coast of England. West Mersea Marine has facilities that have served local yachtsmen for many years providing moorings, general boat yard facilities and storage.There are many interesting places to explore from West Mersea , The river Colne, Brightlingsea and the Walton Backwaters. Within the Blackwater lies Osea Island, Bradwell on Sea, Maylandsea & Maldon. Further south is Burnham and the Thames Estuary.

Marine surveyors – Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex
Burnham-on-Crouch is one of the most popular areas for sailing in the whole of the East of England, the rivers and shoreline providing fine natural water sports arenas. There are numerous sailing clubs, ranging from the very informal to the prestigious internationally famous clubs on the River Crouch.Burnham Yacht Harbour has 350 finger berths for vessels ranging from 7 – 14 metres, and swinging moorings which are available in summer. Burnham Yacht Harbour has a full range of facilities including a 35-ton travel hoist, crane lifts and a 100-ton slip. In addition there are full workshop facilities with engineers, riggers, and shipwrights. Rice & Cole have a boatyard and marina facility attached to a caravan park, and the long-established Priors Boatyard have cranage.

Marine surveyors – Ipswich, Essex/Suffolk
Between Harwich and Ipswich are Woolverstone Marina, with 235 berths and cranage to 9.5 tonnes, and Suffolk Yacht Harbour with 550 berths and cranage to 60 tonnes. Fox’s Marina is located at Ipswich on the River Orwell, and has lifting facilities up to 70 tonnes.
